Socks! are Possible!!!

so, the little one decided to make an appearance!

we've called him Jacob for most of the pregnancy but his "real" name is.

oh oh oh the sock making will commence!

Uncle T where are my hands?

i've made him some blue bootie socks, 2 (one skein) baby boleros, a star afghan kit to start and LOTS of leftover (and new) sock yarns that are calling for baby feet.

sweet sweet baby feet!! and not to leave out big sister and big brother, we're going to make family socks!!!

i'll be sure to get pics of their feet - can you wait?? -- me neither!

Sock! Flies

soooo my weekend was fun, how 'bout yours? went flying with hubby & the socks! it takes a LONG time to get the plane ready. i sit off to the side and occasionally say "let me know if ya need me to do something" he usually rewards me with a small smile. oh, can ya see the sock on the wing??!

this never fails to amuse me...it says "Passenger Warning : This aircraft is amateur built and does not comply with Federal Safety Regulations for standard category aircraft" hmmm well..... nowadays it amuses me, my first couple of times it un-nerved me and i tried to cover it up, cause i kept reading and reading and reading it. here's another "warning" that gave me some concern (ok ok not concern..fright!). Anyways,,,these 2 signs sit on MY side of the plane - not the best instillers of confidence?!

welp, we flew to Luray & Shenandoah. it was pretty cool. i think the socks had fun too.
i really liked how you can't see the propellor turn while flying but the digital camera could capture it. will leave ya with a mountain view!!! (it was hard to decide whether to knit or take pics, so so beautiful up there)

To Be.......Socks!

Hello!!! got some new sock yarn. like i need more....if only...if only...hubby knew...just where the sock yarn is kept!!! ha! i think that my debit card would disappear (thank you for PayPal - no card needed) !!

love the Socks that Rock yarn & the Black Bunny Fibers yarn is soooooo soft and sooo pretty and probably the next socks after the Kill Bill ones are done!

the little wound ball of green is some lace weight for my ISE3 pal. 1st attempt at lace -- not really lace, i guess, just a bunch of yarn overs - but isn't that what lace is??! the perfectionist that i am is going to have a hard time.

i have decided tho that i don't like acrylics, blends are ok but 100% acrylic is so scratchy - not nice to knit with and while they soften some after washing, wool or cotton or blends are so much better. Wool is very different than when Mom knit.

uh oh...supposed to be in the car & halfway to work --ya'all have a great day!

Stop the Socks!

at least for a month or so. (HA! like i could stop!) welp, i won't stop 'em, i have 2 pairs on needles and will work to finish).

but.........i joined the International Scarf Exchange 3 and am happily looking over scarf patterns and hmmmmming over yarn. this is so much fun! my first scarf exchange. i participated in Sockapaloooza before - that was also a blast - can't wait for the next one!

just something about knitting a secret item and sending it off that is so exciting!

oh, here's our newest addition:

actually, she's been with us about 6months now. #3 son got her, no name yet---tho she likes and responds to "kitty-kitty"! interestingly, the cats don't bother her & she loves them! when one comes near the cage, she leans so far out it almost tips, and when she's out of the cage she'll go right up to whatever cat is around. it freaks out the girl kitty :) she runs away from the bunny!!!

have a nice day! i'm off to find the perfect yarn and scarf pattern.

some MORE socks!

6 sox kal: SSS socks in the Kill Bill color from Sweet Georgia yarns. this sock makes me laugh, i find the name hilarious! very nice pattern, easy to remember and follow, tho i might change the heel to a garter short row. i like the fit better in my shoe.

sorry for the darker pic. here are the trekking toe-up socks - based on Wendy Knits pattern. this yarn was kinda scratchy. wasn't sure i'd finish them, have tried several different patterns with the yarn and kept ripping out. however, it washes and dries (in the dryer -yippee!) excellently and the scratchy went away!!

these are meilenweit 616 socks. i really like this yarn, holds up nicely thru washings, color stays. these have been my favorites! i did both socks at once starting from inside and outside the skein....so the stripes are opposite, backwards, reversed...it makes me smile each time i wear them!
