You are The Wheel of Fortune

Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of
intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Growing

L M

has grown!!! he's so sweet. the blue blankie was crocheted by Josie from work. (his sweater is one of the One Skein bolero i knit before his birth). He SMILES alot!!

Josie is a great person to shop with!!! speaks her mind about yarn.........she's enabled and prevented me from some purchases! but.........she doesn't understand my fascination with socks!! i still have 3 pairs on the needles....with several patterns waiting.

see my smile!

i'm working on a wimple for one of the nurses at work - told her if she picked and bought yarn, i'd do the work - know what she chose??? after my instructions that it should be 75% or more wool (because she has horses & wanted something for her neck & head when out at the barn & of course didn't want to be choked by a scarf) - she came back with Lion Brand Homespun ---YUCK! this stuff #1 is NOT - so NOT - wool. #2 is "squirrelly" no other way to describe it - i've worked with it before and did not care for it - but,,but,,but - her wimple is on the needles and i'll finish it this weekend-- cause i want it OUT of the house!! and no, i did not hurt her feelings and tell her how much i hate that yarn - she thought it was pretty and soft and was so pleased with the purchase.

oh yea, that odd pic is one my sis C scanned of old photos she has of the family. i remember this birthday!!! guess i need to pull out all my photos and scan them. too cool!!

Happy Smappy Thursday :)

just so ya know "i DO finish" Socks!

yello!! a so called 'friend' -HA ! made the comment that she was 'concerned' i hadn't finished the Opal Petticoat socks.

i believe the implication was that i am always STARTING socks! i DO finish!!! here are the Opal socks - well-worn by L B .

this is another pair L B has......Sassy Stripes yarn - great yarn!

Iris socks are nearing completion and have been claimed by S

the L J Spooky socks are moving down the foot & i've started L B's Spooky socks

-- by the way the yarn Vesper Sock Yarn says to hand-wash but S - welp, she rarely has time to hand-wash sooooooo....you guessed it, the L M Spooky socks went into the washer and dryer........came out fantastic!!! it "bloomed" and they are so soft. YAY! but he's growing fast and will need a new pair right after his sister's are done!!

oh, i DO admit some of my started socks get frogged. - the yarn and pattern have to ummm-ummmm they have to agree with each other on what kind of socks they want to BE!!!

Stitches East Socks!

yep, i went to Stitches East - first time ever, it was fun. Not so fun was the fact they kept announcing "pictures were prohibited". i understand why---but it was a bummer. i saw some photos on another blog....but they were of people she was with so i'm guessing that was OK.

there were amazing projects and i've fallen in love with lace. it's so pretty and drapey and light and fluffy and lofty!!!!!! actually, until it's blocked it looks kinda like spaghetti or dental floss!

looked at some drop spindles and roving....next obsession!

Not so many sock yarns or sock patterns there, one of my favorites Socks That Rock was - but the color choices were pretty much picked thru, so i got a couple patterns their sock club received.....think i might join it this year - even tho the price went up.

hubby was sweet and drove so i could knit ..... these are the socks that went to Baltimore!!!!!

this is self-striping Iris colorway from Dani - Sunshine Yarns.

other socks went too! these are color Rhodonite from Socks That Rock.

and..the socks started with the yarn dyed from flavoraid got frogged and are re-started using Wendy Knits! toe up feather & fan pattern - the top down feather & fan i was using just wasn't fitting the yarn right - i won't tell ya how many times i've frogged a sock cause the pattern wasn't perfect for the yarn :)

Old Socks!

got to distract myself! started 2 more pairs of socks! (the camera has gone home for a bit- i really need to get my own!)......so here are some older sock pics that i hope i haven't posted before ...... all 3 are patterns from the SixSock KAL.

have really learned alot from this group! and it helped me conquer my dislike for changing colors :) tho i do still avoid it and will purchase self-striping yarns ALOT!

this is a picture of L J's flower that bloomed 2 weeks ago. this thing is amazing - he planted a seed in a paper cup in March 2006 - when it finally got big enough, we planted it on the side of the house (maybe June?). then came the HOT HOT HOT summer...sometimes we forgot to water it...we had to put sticks around it so Poppy wouldn't mow it down, then came the nor'easter and it almost drowned and blew away! i can't believe this thing bloomed!!! we believe it is a marigold,,,,,but there's no tell'n now!

oh, and here's a pic of the scarf i received in ISE3. i posted on that blog but don't think i did here. it's Noro yarn and so pretty and soft, i love it!! bring on the SNOW!!!
