Nope Nope and....

so, i joined ISE4 ......last time was such a blast! got my person ~ read over her preferences ~ visited her blog ~ poured over patterns ~ shopped for some yarn ~ found some with most of the colors she likes ~ woo hoo, i was on my way! (was, was, was)

nope! (falling water lace lost in yarn)

nope! (herringbone lace lost in yarn)

this yarn is lovely ~100% merino ~ so soft & lofty ~ vibrant color ~ but, doesn't want to be.

hubby (who usually smiles & says that's nice) tells me "hmmm, i don't know"

i haven't tried the feather n fan pattern yet - i know it works wonders with variegated yarns.

just means i shop for more yarn ~ solid color?

Not for Me Socks!

oh how i love and want these socks......but dil (who never asks for any) really showed a love of these & their stripes

and each time i tried them on and thought 'she won't notice' my guilty person on the left shoulder said 'GET REAL!'

then i reached the point of no return - she has bigger feet than me - and there would be no way i could wear them ~ anyone who know me knows my weirdness about "just so" socks in my shoes.

in my quest for a cow (i truly am not kidding,,,,,i'm getting a COW) i've discovered i might need 2. it needs a friend ~ dude ~ everyone needs a friend. i think my cats will really like a cow too.

anyways.......the tiger socks are knit3 purl1 rib, progressing nicely

- seen here at the truck stop motel -- this stop was trucker (ummm, city/world)??

oh, & know what? i like the socks better inside out, might have to adjust way heel is knit so i can wear them that way!

this is my 'stuck in traffic' buddy!! isn't he cute?? click to see him better! he was having a blast - happy (not yappy). usually when i see small dogs, i want to yell "GET A REAL DOG" but this little one, he had a respectable bark, only used his bark when he had too - was very discrete, enjoyed the breeze and was pretty agreeable --even tho we moved very very slowly for an hour or more.

i wonder how many of us really know the area/state we live in, i'm here to tell you i had no idea what VA has to offer!

i have never ever seen so many........COWS! ("why, yes, Virginia there are a lot of cows here").

oh, i've nothing against cows - actually i'm going to get one. i'm not kidding, i'm getting a cow - ask hubby!

Road Trip Socks!

off with hubby for a road trip this weekend.

hopefully he'll do most of the driving so i can knit!

the cool thing is ~ there's a yarn shop in the small town we're heading for -- YAY!

not so cool thing is ~ i'm gonna miss my 3 sweetie pies!!

my goal is to finish the Dani - Sunshine Yarns Iris socks.

they are really pretty nice ~~~ just were timing consuming & stressing because they're for someone unknown ~~ i like Lornas Laces & have several pairs myself. can go in washer & dryer & minimal "slumping".

haven't you ever had something that you loved &&& HATED?? ! i love this pattern Hello Yarn-Cable Twist Socks and if the socks were for me would have been done & on my feet (have tried on this pair -- they are awesome!) in record time -- but whatever ~~they're off to their new home.

Closer Socks!

i know, i know,,,,for the past 3 weekends i have wished these socks DONE!!! welp, here they are - NOT done! but so close! i think~~that my problem is ~~i feel pressured to get these to my co-worker so she can mail them. any other pair & i wouldn't have this issue, also, i sooooo want them to be perfect. the biggest issue is: da da da da -- this woman has no idea what size her cousin wears --- somewhere around a 10 (she thinks) and she has "kinda chunky ankles"! Good Lord, what was i thinking when i agreed to make these!!! i'm really hoping the stretchyness of the rib & the pulling in of the pattern will complement each other - making them fit (at least) nicely. oh, and Lornas Laces is very pleasing to work with (some pooling), but the easy-care of the yarn is a big + + since i'm not sure how the person will feel about hand washing socks! i do realize not everyone has my obsessive nature :)

Sock! Club

yay!!! a while back i (joined everyone else in the world) signed up for the Socks that Rock club ~~ evidently their bank had some issue which caused the first shipment to be way late.


anyhooo - it arrived yesterday & i'm itching for the weekend to get here so i can sit and knit!!!
