DUN scarf (part2)

ok, got it out of the "soak" (sorry, i rinsed - i know it said not to but the smell was too strong).

was on the floor attempting to pin/block it & T walks thru....now he's been having a lot of pain & is tired cause sleeping hurts ~~hey, can i like use pulleys & rope & suspend him so he can sleep standing up??~~ oh, sorry, the blocking thing,

soooo he's standing at the door saying "what are you doing" then says "WHAT is that smell?" ha ha ha, and i thought it was just me :P

i explain about the "soak" and mention i'm sorry i used it & he goes "ME TOO!" Lord, i love that boy, he is too funny! (just a note: i didn't even use the amount of soak stuff it said & i diluted it BIG time)

i tried not to block it too severely & tried to follow the line on the board to keep it straight, then decided i kinda liked the scallopy (is that a word?) way the border was going. i do understand why people buy the blocking wires, i might have to get some!

sorry scarf pal ----you might have to wash & re-block. it's now measuring about 74" x 10". i hope it fluffs back out - i liked the texture pre-washed better!

Scarf is DUN

yay! i finished - welp i posted on the ISE4 blog that i was done but......scarf was only 50" unblocked





so last night i frogged back (hoooo boy, baby alpaca brush frogging is NOT recommended! all those soft little fibers....ack!!) & added 3-4 repeats of pattern & ended again now it's just over 62" or so unblocked



and having a nice bath in "soak" not sure i like the smell of this stuff (but ever since i had that cold, smells bug me).

now to kick the cats out ~ so it can be blocked minus cat hair!!! the one cat can not stand a closed bedroom door ~ i will have to listen to paws batting at the door for the weekend.



T is slowly improving......few steps forward, lots of steps back.

Sock YARN !! ??

enough to make 90+ pairs of socks ~ so sue me!!

i believe April 1st was "flash your stash" day. hmmm,, since i'm always late to the parTAY ....and since it's almost May 1st ~~~take a pic!



after this shot -- it was brought to my attention that the pile is only SOCK yarn stash & don't i want to "show" the rest............nope!!! besides, do you really want to see that & know how much in is this little house?

......we left the hospital TOO soon! but there was no stopping us ( T in particular!). this was not the best week in the world....i'm sure all mothers can relate...doesn't matter how old the child is...you still see the sweet little baby. he survived & is surviving -- incredible pain but we are told it will be so for a long time. i just don't have the nice pain killers that the hosp. has! (then again he's not as "loopy" as he was)

anyways, i turned both heels and did the gusset decreases on the Jaywalkers at the hospital ~ so now i'm moving down the feet ~ do you know that as much trouble this yarn caused ---trying to be the ISE4 scarf --- there might not be enough to finish the socks!!! and do ya see how the stripes are not zigzagging on the one sock?? i've decided i don't care! whatever length i get to (which is why i do both socks at once) i will just find the other yarn from same person & finish the socks with that. this NOT SO SMART yarn (thanks L B i almost said that s word**) will NOT win against me & i WILL wear these socks till they fall apart!!!

the tiger socks went to hospital too, got couple rows worked but the garter heel required too much concentration (for me) & they got stuffed to the bottom of the bag.

Pretty Girl says, "please don't ever leave me with that other human-i can be good in a hospital!"

what a nice weekend.....had 3 little ones from Thurs thru Sun.....we made the rounds. spent Thurs nite at their house (why o why do those dogs think they can sleep on the bed??).

Fri nite at my house ~ L B & L J attempted to spend the nite outside in the tent! i will say they made it until around 10pm then the 44degrees & chance of rain brought them inside ~ to place the tent on the air mattress (so technically they DID sleep in the tent all nite!)

L M slept on a mattress in J's room with Mamere....& hey man...for a 6month old he takes up ALOT of the bed! Morning brought a nice pic

Sat nite was back at their house (this time the dogs listened--but stayed close in case i changed my mind!)

oh and L B lost a tooth! the biggest surprise was da da daaaaaa ~the Tooth Fairy came! i always thought the Tooth Fairy was your Mom & Dad but ~ they were out of town & the Tooth Fairy still came!!!

Horrible:
Sun nite, a wet stormy nite, T had a car accident ~ thankfully he is fine ~welp~ "fine" being broken ribs, clavicle, lacerated liver & kidney & assorted other injuries but -we are very grateful he will be ok (with time).

that being said,,,,,,,,the dude broke my one and only rule : i work all week at the hospital - on the weekends,,,,i refuse to go there!however, the Jaywalkers did grow as i furiously knit ~ while watching the chest tube produce nasty liquid.

it's true?

so my son & dil have been telling me that L M pulls himself up & stands in his crib....sure! i say. (come on, the boy is only 6months) he's learning to sit, gets up on his hands & knees, can twirl himself in a circle on his belly.


welp, yesterday L J hollers "Mamere come here & see what he's doing!!!"
good thing my camera was in the car!!

ISE4 ~ Socks!

hey, 'memmemmmber the yarn that refused to be a scarf??? ha ha! that yarn won't win against me!!!

lookie, lookie : the beginnings of Jaywalker pattern. yes, i know, i'm late to the party. everyone in the world has made these & really, i tried when the pattern came out (with trekking yarn) ~ guess i was a bit "challenged" then as i couldn't get them to fit ~ either too tight or too loose - go figure!

tuna says, "please please let me see that yarn, i can whip it into shape!"

felix bubby says "boring" (at least til she leaves them alone, then i can chew the needles for her)
oh, and mom's cat still lives! she has 2 bunnies as friends & enjoys her private garage!

had to frog the ISE4 scarf. started another.....whatcha think? more better??

i love that phrase! one of my boys used to say that....'is this more better mom?' now i need to find the other skeins that go with this one ~ that are here ~ somewhere!

oh, the sweater is sweater-ing (of course now it's 70 degrees)

Let It GO!

"let it go" hubby says, "just let it go". he is right & i will......."you had fun, you were so excited on the ride up, let it go" oh how well he knows me!!

the wedding was very beautiful. lovely bride, handsome groom.

it was nice to see the sisters.

and sweet to see groom's mom with her 3 boys!

on the ride home was when "realization dawned"......in remembering conversations & little comments-warning looks.......and, and,and,and,and,,,,,,,,,,,,, i'm going to let it go!

Score!

had a busy but great weekend. went to a nephew's wedding, watched the little ones.

GOT some YARN!! as in YARN PIRATE!!! wooo hoooo! for me....i've tried to umm well, stalk the etsy site,

i've subscribed to the updates so i get emails as to when there will be yarn up.
