i finally found the pamphlet have been searching for ~ YAY! got to use 40% off coupon too!

and just to make it interesting ~ pulled out book of crocheted dishcloths ~ will see how long one of these puppies takes!!!

off to buy some more cotton yarn ~can't find the bin that holds the skeins i "put away"! ~ hey, maybe i used?? them???

Sockamania January socks done!!! YAY! and with a few days left instead of trying to beat the "time zone" time :)

if you've not tried BFL wool ~ ya GOT to!

these were alot of fun and went fast,,,,,,i just got distracted by some other knits!

it's so much fun and hope to finish tonight (only need 8 to make scarf) - it was on sale at Morehouse Farm and bought extra skein to make brown one ~ oh and NO sewing/seaming ~ it's like a 3 needle bind off to join next one ~ WOOT!

the alligator scarf is still in it's package, the shrug is longer ~ hey, found a site where she made a shrug for her dog ~ where is that link???

the other 2 pairs socks are "heel flapping it" !

not only Socks!

i admit to being obsessed with socks! even before started knitting them, was obsessed......it became a quest for finding the most outrageous pair......now i try to find the most outrageous yarn!!!

but they aren't all i knit (or crochet for that matter). i've several projects that grow slowly

have joined secretofthestole-ii and this is the saaaweeet! yarn i'm using 100% alpaca lace ~ winding 1250 yards of lace takes awhile ~ but NO knots, no breaking, just smooth, soft alpaca!!!




the Dream In Color shrug is progressing nicely too ~~ tho i don't know that i would wear a shrug, we'll see :)




~ man, talk about soft, smooshy yarn!! might have to start some more socks





(oh, YES! i DID get a skein of their sock yarn ~ sue me!)

work has been very stressful ~~ since i told them i'm retiring....and after 23 years at the same hospital and the past 11 in the cath lab....you'd think they'd be happy for me!! welp,not that they aren't but they seem to think i'm trying to screw them over! (uhhh, sorry my G rating probably went to PG with those last 3 words)


but it's ALL good!!! because today (thanks to J & S) i got to see the best~est kids IN THE WORLD !

and they made everything better ~ of course!!!


C D B and i went to try and meet the bus! hims is fast!

have been working on Sockamania socks January pattern in the BFL tie dye that Etsy :: See Jayne Knit Yarns custom dyed for me......they're so soft and can't wait to finish! see what the yarn colors did on the heels???? LUV it!!


and yep, i made another try at the watermelon yarn......it occured to me that it was strong enough to wind in a cake.....so i rewound adjusting and started socks...so far so good, but will be very careful with wash&wear to make sure they don't fall apart on me!!!

pulled out my watermelon yarn

purchased this several months ago. it's very hard to get hold of and now i'm sad!

so saaaaaadddd! the yarn keeps breaking. i can't even cast on......each time....before i'm even close to the total stitches i need --- the yarn just falls apart --- have tried casting on loosely, gently, invisibly ~~~ no go!! i thought maybe because it's single ply mixed breed but i don't know, i can't even knit what i do get cast on, it just..........isn't strong, won't be any socks out of this blah! & the pics i've seen of finished socks are cute :P

and

guess i'm disappointed cause the kiwi socks came out so great ~wear these alot!

so here's my solution (of a sorts)

the girly girl kitty really likes it! maybe i should try making a small mat or blankie for her

these are the socks i started!! sorry sis, not the pink yet :)

finally finished these, have had them for a couple ?? years? it's magic stripes acrylic (ack!) yarn which is probably why it's taking so long to finish them ~ i've become a yarn snob!!

see the green yarn on the one sock? it's an afterthought heel i started these when bought the "not just socks" book

oh, a shot of the heels finished & washing!

see the sign on the inside of my front door?? we have 2 outdoor cats, one has decided to catch squirrels and gut them on the front porch ~ extremely gross!!! the other watches in fascination (he's not the brightest bulb in the world) so until one of the "men" in the family come home to............ uhhhh, deal with the dead thing....... i have to remind myself to be careful exiting!

p.s. ~ squirrel lovers please note that i've corralled the cat in question during the day so he can't do this anymore ~ the vet's suggestion ~ as squirrels tend to be out in the day

soooooooo i HAD to buy some & actually it's not 100% alpaca (the sock yarn has part merino & nylon)

but guess what???? gonna go out and buy some pure alpaca today :) ~ lace for a pretty pretty lighty & lofty scarfy!
