it's very quiet here, the baby is sleeping, the older 2 are at school, i find myself tiptoe-ing about, i'm glad i'm at my house, the rookie dog barks at shadows or possibilities of shadows, my cats are pretty quiet, they'll roam the house when the baby sleeps but when he's awake they hide, so just the fact that they are out and about means i'm safe, still, i'll tiptoe! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

stealth knitting

and not because it's a super secret project!!!! i have to hide from my lovelies!!

L B, L J, C D B pretty much require that i pay attention to them!! and i think C D B has some kind of RADAR that says i picked up knitting needles!

S is still in Canada ~her dad is home and doing much better (thanks!)

J and i are trying to hold down the home fort ~ it's been interesting being thrown into full time kid stuff ~ hey, we made it to Girl Scouts the other night - only 7 minutes late!

oh, and BTW ~it does all come rushing back to you............get up, dress, breakfast, brush your teeth (might have missed that one once or twice), backpack, homework...................oh yeah, in there somewhere is change the baby, feed the baby (and dogs and cat). rush out to the bus!

then you get to breathe somewhat cause you only have the little one BUT ****the bus brings the kids BACK!! then it's.......do your homework, listen to their school day (i like that part!) maybe play outside a bit ~ i have yet to play the Wii ~ maybe today!

soooooo.....C D B has this habit of picking stuff off the ground when we're out playing ~ all little ones like to find "treasures"


sometimes it's pinecones, rocks, flowers, grass etc.

many times he gets beer bottle tops, cigarette butts ~ WHAT is up with that??? can't these people find a trash can or ash tray??? JERKS!

anyhooooooo.........the other day we're playing ~ he likes to run circles around this group of mailboxes (soon he'll be too tall and smack his head)



and he stops, does "his look at me" to see if i'm watching, looks at the ground and back up at me, has that GLEEM in his eye!!


i see a piece of paper on the ground, it's been raining and it's kinda muddy out, i shake my head no don't pick it up & he SMILES!! and there's this little giggle ~ so i go rushing over (i think he likes to see me run!)



and i start to step on the paper cause that's what i usually do and look down****it's a $10 bill!!!!


p.s. in some of pictures he has a smiley face eraser in his mouth - he likes erasers! and yes! that is one of Mom's elephant sweaters :)

new yarn!! i might be in trouble!

a month or so ago the husbeast (hee!) asked me "how many thousands of dollars of yarn is in this house?"

i believe my response was "dude, are you crazy? thousands of dollars, no way!"

i received THE LOOK (and a kind of snort - plus he hates it when i call him "dude")

it did start me thinking and mentally reviewing all the yarn that is here

the majority of it is sock yarn ~ sock yarn does NOT count.

the rest is a mish mash and mostly acrylic ~ i KNOW acrylic doesn't count!

so guess what ~ with taking an average cost of a skein ~ i DO have thousands of dollars of yarn!

neglecting to add in the couple skeins on their way here....technically they aren't physically here to be counted! heh!

YIKES! but it's mine, all mine! i mentioned he should have me cremated with it :)

a day in the life of....

C D B...........first we have to get L B & L J moving

then i stand in the center of the table while Mamere says "WHAT are you doing"

please note that this always works to get Mamere to pick you up!

the dogs follow us from room to room as we search for shoes and backpacks ~oh, don't forget looking for extra "mmmmmmmbahhhhhhs" (you might know them as: corks, plugs, paci's)

then we go to Mamere's to feed T's bunnies, where i get to climb on the chairs (NOT!)

Mamere showed me how to push the chair to the sink so i can play in the water (NOT!)

she tries to take a break some mornings (i saw her knitting one time and made her stop that!)

i have stuff to DO! most days i get to play on the trampoline and take a walk around the block

C D B and i decided to wind some yarn today for February Sockamania pattern......we chose some Lazy Perry Ranch BFL. think she calls it "sweetheart" will be perfect for valentines!

C D B really didn't HELP ~ more like twirled the thing so fast ~ had to take the yarn off and just let him spin :)

pooped out ~ YAY! ~ don't ask me why he likes pillow cases! i'm just glad not to have to carry around a quilt/blankie ! give me pillow cases ANY day !

another dishcloth started!!! had hoped to finish tonight and then start the FROGGY cloth and then the ladybug and then and then and then...............i must be ready to mail by Feb 18 or so.........i think i know what extra goodies to get............wonder how many cloths to send :) but now i think the colors are too 'busy' for the pattern, will probably start over.

a couple family emergencies have made life a bit frantic ~ keeping our heads above water each day is a struggle.........

what little knitting time available is spent with dishcloths instead of my socks :(

i do love dishcloths, they're quick, instant gratification, but i miss my socks!

while waiting for phone calls and hopefully POSITIVE information (why can't emergencies ever be good??) i search this site Dishcloth Boutique for the perfect cloths for my secret pal!!
