and really......... it doesn't have to be any one of the above..........a sweet smile, a hug, a kind word......a plaa-ease! with an earnest face.......can pretty much get you what you want!

***UPDATE to elaborate a bit.......it's not that i can be "bought".......it's that simple little things bring me more pleasure than say if you gave me a house or a car!!!

however, if husbeast (ha!) comes home with flowers ~~~ my first response will always be......what'd ya do??? ;)

i got more knitting done before i retired!!

the scarf is longer ~ i stopped knitting on it when i realized that the 2nd skein was lighter in color than the first!! but,,,,,,,i feel a little better......someone ~who's used Dream in Color Classy~ told (or told-dead) me that it happened to them too and when it gets washed (and such) the colors bleed anyway and the end product is "pretty much uniform in color". let us HOPE!

been having a blast with my 3 munchkins which is why knitting has slowed :)

accidently broke one of Mom's ceramic cats...blah! i'm sure my Dad is up there going "ha!".

bought some super glue and will fix it this weekend........any one of you care to guess how many times these things have been glued???

i can still remember being at their house and one of the littles ones walking into the living room with a ceramic cat under each arm saying "got kitties" and Dad about choking because the bottom half of the cats were missing and the kid was carrying just the heads/necks!

geez........how many of the grandkids did that??

gotta hand it to Dad tho.......he never said anything.......just glued them back together ~choking back laughter of course!!

today is a nice, lazy, rainy day.......welp, now it is, earlier it was sunny and warm

i WAS searching around looking for some sock patterns to go with the sock yarn i want to knit with......and husbeast (ha!) says "aren't you supposed to be finishing the scarf for that swap?"

what??? he actually heard what i said a week ago???

guess......................... what i'm doing????

working on the ISE6 scarf ~ which is a good thing ~ cause it's already 59" long

and this is what's left of the skein!

but my mind is on starting socks and how many pairs of sock needles are open!

comfy, pretty, squishy ~~~ only issue: knots in skein!! (this is not the first time that has happened with Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn)



now to work on the watermelon socks ~ they refuse to grow cause i had so many issues with yarn breaking ~ i don't want to finish and have them fall apart!



i did tell myself to finish the scarf that needs to be mailed ~ let's see if i listen to myself :)

i've had L B, L J, C D B ~~ the weekend was fun, monday was fun................did i take pics?? nope!

forgot my camera and have no idea where theirs is ~~i think it's a ploy - they know i LOVE that camera!

i am knitting.........

am working on my pal's ISE6 scarf ~ it must travel soon

the dishcloth kal's have restarted the socks is done (yes, i realize i said is and not are!)

life is busy, life is good! ~ pics tomorrow ~ as i am watching kidlets this afternoon and i put camera in the car so i won't forget it :)

spin me right round baby right round like a record......

so the sun came out yesterday.......and i stayed home from work........and i didn't call to tell them i wasn't coming........and they didn't call to ask where i was......i call that PROGRESS!!!

so............i took out the spindle and practiced on the last of the the roving that came with the kit....i ditched the dvd and watched YouTube - Park and Draft Spinning for Rheba and made my own PROGRESS!!

i really liked how she says "don't be afraid to.." several times........my spinning seems to be better.....i still can't just let it spin ~ have to "park" it but am getting a better more uniform.....uhhhh ~yarn?

the dvd has you break the roving in half.........the video shows just pulling down the whole length of the roving.......makes more sense ~ you also get longer yarn.........so my next spindle spinning will be monday morning with the weird green brown stuff!

and big sister's afghan might be closer to being done!

tuna is unimpressed..............he's heard me say stuff like that before.........and he's glad i didn't have time to clean his "patch of carpet" cause it's just like he likes it ;)

it's been so dreary here, i know "April showers bring May flowers" but i am so over it!


i did get my order for the The Loopy Ewe yesterday :) it had a nice surprise ~ sock pattern and stitch marker ~ i had to check my invoice! (cause i knew i'd only gotten yarn & fiber)

my quest for a spinning wheel continues ~ husbeast (ha!) thinks i might be too picky......but i want one that is ornate ~ the newer ones just look like flat pieces of shiny wood slapped together...i'm sure they work fine.....but i want PRETTY~ and functional! and for some of the prices i think i should get the pretty. did find a site that sells plans for one --- that way i could pick the pieces and make it pretty...............hey, he built the plane from scratch, guess i can do a spinning wheel (but he won't be able to stop himself from reading the plans and commenting or offering advice so i say why doesn't he just do it for me!)

meanwhile, have been reading more on spindle spinning ~ my first attempts were mediocre ~the dvd went step by step and is ok but................

been having fun with dishcloths.............and joined a couple yahoo groups http://monthlydishclothkal.blogspot.com/ and DigKnitty Designs .................. (check them out)


my fav knitting is still socks! and since it's getting warmer - will have to pull out some cotton blend yarn - or go BUY some!!! these are longer, almost at the toe ~ didn't carry pattern down foot cause yarn is obscuring pattern. yarn is CTH in Maple Sugar


ISE6 scarf is moving along..............just not sure this is the right pattern for my pal

ya know, "retirement" is supposed to be easy!

i am finally counting the days! what was officially Feb 29............has morphed into April 15 (ahhhhhh tax day!) why yes, i begged and Mamere gave me root beer in a bottle!

i agreed to 2 days a weeks to train the 2 people replacing me (funny huh! 2 people), however the schedule came out and i'm listed as every day til the 15th ~~~ this we ARE going to discuss!

i've got 3 on my side!

husbeast (ha!) says "well maybe you should work full time til we move and we can bank all that money" *********nope!********** and where did he see "all that money"?????

i might consider a part time job til we move but i AM retiring from the hospital!
