living the dream!

ha! we used to have a tech at work that when asked "how are you" would say "living the dream, living the dream"



at the time his definition was negative (our manager can be a pill at times), then he resigned, got a great job, married..........and is living his dream ~ positive definition this time!



at this point, even with all that is going on in my life and family life........



i can honestly say "i'm living the dream!"

heading in to work today :(

actually it's not been too bad ~ it's nice knowing i can leave whenever! ~ plus i don't have to change my health care policy

i agreed to work 2 days a week for a bit, to get the newbies trained and help with her first submission of data

will probably continue 2 days for the summer ~ or NOT!

it's different not being there EVERY day ~ i can see things clearer

new pink socks!

for some reason my cast on is tighter with this yarn (even with several sizes larger needle) so i doubled the cast on number and then k2tog p2tog around and that seems to have solved it!!

what a great day!!

the sun was shining.............played all day with L B, L J, C D B

just the kind of weekend day you hope for.........we experienced:

~the PSYCHO squirrel ~ while returning from our bike ride to a "popular convenience store"

~sprayed the hose while jumping on the trampoline

~played legos and pok*mon

~found an alternative to sunscreen (hey did ya know that most facial moisturizers have an spf of 30?? i KNOW ~ amazing!)

did i take pics?? nahhhhhh too much fun to stop

now i'm having some grilled tilapia and a bud ~~hope ya'll are having a great time too!!

a package ~~ it really arrived yesterday but i wasn't home :(

usually my mail lady leaves packages (i do get alot of yarn!) but this needed a signature extra goodies kept the shawl company!

it's not YARN!me legs hurt!

a tad freaked!

ok, so.......last night i'm in this dream.....nothing special, can't even remember what it was but i turn slightly and........in front of me is GRANDMA WEEKS!

she's just standing there & she's kinda smiling & she looks just FINE!

i start running towards her ~tho she wasn't that far away~ and someone beside me (can't tell who it is thought it was husbeast (ha!) but i don't think it was?)---

and the someone doesn't SAY anything but i can FEEL them thinking......"no, don't go, she's not real"

so.....i slow down a bit but get to her to hug her and am touching her arm - not hugging her yet - and turn to that person to say ~ "no, she's solid, i can feel her" and......POOF! she's gone

what the heck was that about???? i don't get it because:

#1 Grandma never really cared for me - her many reasons: had my first son too young, wouldn't adopt him out, she actually refused to call me his mom......blah, blah, blah

#2 in reference to above : gave every grandchild a crocheted afghan when they married - not me! i'm not sure she even acknowledged my marriage. and then when she passed, there were too many things happening that i could not go and snag one of her crocheted items so i lost out again!

#3 over the years, when we would visit, acted like she could not wait til we LEFT! i am not sure she even knew my kids names. and no she was not senile!

so what's up Grandma Weeks???? why are you THE FIRST deceased person to visit in my dreams???

have started and frogged soooooooo many scarves this week...blah!


i know i have til May 26 to get ISE6 scarf in the mail..........but i'd like it to be mailed earlier.



sock patterns continue to swirl in my head and i have to keep telling myself - scarf! scarf! scarf! :)

really wanted to use the manos del....but it can't get itself together with a pattern

sadly two sock heels have developed holes


weird thing is that both heels are garter short rows ~ love this heel it's squishy and fits my shoe ~ hey, maybe it's my shoe???


nope! have many other socks with no holes

problem solved!of course repairing the socks is an option too ~~~ or knitting more socks!

I Love Sunday!

welp, my cutie pies spent the night last night.........

we hung out, saw a few light'ning bugs, watched Narnia

today was pretty so we were outside ALOT (at first in our PJ's!)

we dug out the legos

we walked to G & G's but they weren't home

so we walked back (please note: each child had a turn in the stroller ~ Mamere did NOT! ~ i need a wagon!)

somehow L B avoided the camera

and this is all i was able to get of L J

C D B smiled nicely

(really, he was just happy to be going in the door........then out the door....then in the door!)

he likes to step UP and step DOWN (and you must count~one two three!)

gave up on the Manos del.......great soft yarn, it's still not sure what it wants to BE

picked another yarn from Black Bunny Fibers

working on freebie pattern from Briar Rose Fibers Hatties Rose Garden..........

i am liking this combo!!!! (hope i haven't jinxed it)

our mail lady had already delivered ~ got some Netflix, junk mail........

sitting at the computer i saw that the mail truck was parking in front of our house but when she didn't knock i just assumed she'd gone across the street.last night the package was on the table

these cuties travelled all the way from Canada........

they are very happy that the box they were in had air holes!!

the next travelling they do will be to West VA!

(a more traditional Thank You is in the mail)
