long winded

that was a fast weekend! saturday night L B, L J, C D B spent the night

we stayed up LATE! C D B made it to 10pm

L B & L J to 11pm ~ me too ~ late night tv doesn't have alot to offer.

sunday morning found 3 of us up early (seems L J can and does sleep thru anything!)

anyways, we go out back (yep, in our jammies) and swing, rinse out the water things.

i'm drinking coffee, spraying off the trampoline when i hear C D B start spitting ~ this has been his "thing" for a bit, he's fascinated by both the sound and the fluid. i turn to look at him to say "stop!" and by george ~ he's spitting in my coffee!!

now Mamere does not have many rules (sorry S!) 2 come to mind: 1. no doing anything that requires an ER visit on the weekend ~ i'm there all week don't need weekend too. 2. all mtdew is mine. now i have to add a #3 ~ no spitting in coffee!

so i dump it out, get some more, he's wandering and swinging, L B goes back inside, i sit down with my coffee in hand, guarded (i think) and we watch the little pool fill. he uses his little pitcher thingy to pour water around and on the garden. he's so cute!

darned if he didn't come over and pour POOL water in my cup!! what a 21 month old creepazoid!!

i have no pictures, i wish i did, but i don't think they would show that "sparkle" in his eye as he walked toward me.

next time ~ i'll be ready!

topic week 3

Well now that Summer has OFFICIALLY begun.. what do you do to beat the heat? A nice tall glass of lemonade? Frozen Coffee? A dip in the pool? What's your favorite way to keep cool this summer as things heat up?

our home doesn't have central heating or cooling so years ago i'd take the boys to the beach.

these days, i just hang around the backyard with ice water or iced tea (unsweet!)

when L B, L J, C D B are here we use the hose alot!! it's fun to jump on the trampoline while someone is spraying you :) sometimes we put ice cubes on the trampoline too!

when it gets hotter and more humid will have to put in the window ac units ~ but i prefer the fresh air ~ being only a couple blocks or more from the bay ~ it's not quite as uncomfortable as it is "inland"


this cloth has fascinated me for awhile, i resisted the urge to begin because:


1. i detest color changes 2. i detest weaving in ends on color changes AND 3. i detest color changes!

oh, i can DO them and HAVE done intarsia, etc. and love the effect, but i detest color changing!


it was easy and fun, i carried the colors up the sides cause you're changing colors ever 2 rows and it's do~able, only took me an hour!

i did change a few things ~ did a crochet cast on, picked up the stitches on the last part and kitchenered them instead of seaming ~ did i forget to mention i detest seaming! OOPS!

hee! "in my world" summer has arrived the first time i hear

"hey, how do you get to.............."

it means the tourists have invaded! and usually occurs in May ~ it means going to the locals beaches instead of the oceanfront

the roads will be over run with out of state license plates


~ you CAN tell the difference ~ between the ones that live here (we also have several large Naval bases) ~ and the ones who are visiting!

hmmmm, i guess i could tell you the best places to sleep!
