L J calls me monday ~~ says "remember that movie you were searching for? i found it behind the entertainment stand" ~~ i say great! but behind the entertainment stand ~ what were you looking for? he says "Christmas presents!"



he and L B were scouting the house in search of goodies!! so i ask him if they found any, and he says nah -- i ask how he knows any are actually in the house and he says "cuz mom and dad came home and made us go upstairs while they unloaded the groceries from the minivan"


ummm, real subtle J & S -- even I would have searched for presents then!


i tell him about the time i looked for presents ~ guess i was 10 or so ~ and found them in the hall closet on Noble Street, took them down (they were wrapped) and looked thru trying to guess




and...and.....and..... i tell him, i'll be there to watch you all tues ~~ i'll help you all look again!!!



YES! i would! part of the fun of Christmas is the anticipation, the searching, the the the......


i get there yesterday ~ S tells me that their bedroom door is closed cuz she wrapped all the presents and they are on their bed


****WHAT??***** how can we search now??


Man! what a total bummer! that just stunk!


and we can't search for Santa presents cuz Santa won't come til tonight ~ i've been robbed!

soooo....we did it........

talked to a realtor last week ~~ and i'm a little weirded out!

she walked thru the house and throughout the property and it was all positive

but........we've lived here 21 years, this is the only home the boys have known ~~ #1 son might remember some of the early years -- we moved here when he was 8 or 9

she'll be back tomorrow to finalize listing and it will be on the market soon :(

S & L B are going on an adventure this weekend

they will get to see my favorite thing ~~ SNOW!! (hey, bring some back)

was asked to make them some headbands

forgot to take pics of the first 2 ~ one crochet one knit ~ (they were bombs anyway) as is this room that needs knitting content control

now done ~ maybe i'll get some pics of them in use & SNOW covered oh that's not a done pic!

now ready to move down the foots on the circle socks! would be nice to finish & wear these :)

please bring back the alpaca yarn ~ i promise not to touch it!

the longest........

33 minutes in my whole life!!!! i watched the cutie pies this weekend......weather wasn't so great so we just lazed around

C D B just might have to be renamed........PSYCHO BABY !!

which is where the 33 minutes comes in

it all started with a diaper change (he is potty training for those of you who are going "what he's 2")

boy oh boy ~ he freaked ~ then got mad ~ then did this thing where he doesn't want you to look at him, you can't move, can't talk to him, can't can't can't anything!

i knew he was tired and it was close to nap time (whydoyathinkichangedthediaper??)

we had 33minutes of him crying,pushing,yelling,throwing~6 paci's at my head

oh, and don't judge us about the paci's~we are happy to pay an orthodontist~means he was fortunate to grow up~life can be short~choose your battles carefully

let me just say that i do know 2 year olds act this way.......but hear me when i say that none of the other g-kids ever went thru "terrible 2's" Not A J, L B, L J this was totally new to me!!

finally i was forced to stand near mommy & daddy's bed, not look at him, not move, pray the cell phone in my pocket didn't ring, and he fell asleep ~ after i got the evil eye for checking to see if his eyes were closed! (oh, yeah, forgot to say by then he was completely naked ie: diaperless in their bed!)

when J & S got home, i RAN out of there ~ if you wake the baby ~ you're watching him!!

yes! it's true that sweet angel face did all of the above, i promise!

alpaca sox Socks!

despite #3 son's psycho cat ~~~ i did manage to finish these socks :)

for some reason this cat became obsessed with the yarn

each time i tried to knit, he'd stick his nose right in the yarn, snort around, then knock over the basket and take off with the yarn

amazingly enough, he never poked his eyes on the double point needles!

i'm guessing the attraction was the 60% alpaca ~ he's never really bothered with merino yarn

#2 son and i ended up with some nice bleeding scratches (and bites) trying to get it back before the socks got destroyed

complete!

they're super warm :) the cat sat on them (holding them down?) but i chased him away :P

a rare weekend

didn't see the cutie pies at all!

worked on the house some (yuck!)

husbeast ha! & #2 son put new carpet in the den

the floors and bathroom are back in use

have a bunch of stuff for thrift store and library

finally finished searching house for all the sock yarn ~ think i've got it corralled!

the rooms must be "prettied up" ~ i'm going to stay out of that one ~ it's husbeast ha! 's domain now ~ my ideas have been vetoed too many times!

i don't need....

the 5th grade chorus sang one of my favorites ~ Jingle Bell Rock!

the pictures suck ~ camera battery dying and we were in the back

so, i'm on Ravelry looking at sock patterns (what else??!)

i get to this page of patterns and i'm going "oh! i LIKE that one, and THAT one, oh AND that one too....."

after realizing that several of them are in the same book,,,,,,,,i start looking for the book

first i look on the local library site ~ cuz if i can "rent" it then i can decide if i really want to buy it ~but it's not there

i go to Amazon.com and they've got it~~ New Pathways for Sock Knitters: Book One: Cat Bordhi: Books

as i'm debating with myself (i don't really NEED another sock book-or do i??)

i realize ~ i HAVE it ~ silly silly me!! i purchased it awhile ago!

now what pattern should i start with??
