something funny??

i tried to change our address ~ the USPS does not recognize our new one!! the website asked me if i was SURE...... so i called the local office (at the new place) and was told, "we'll have to add the address - spell your last name"

i tried to turn on electricity ~ the electric company had no record of that address!! & they couldn't find the current owners account

i temporarily stopped relocation efforts!!

to give the post office credit ~~ she did research it and found her carriers "don't go out that far" and suggested a P.O. box ~~ she also gave me.....................the 911 co-ordinator's phone # to see what they have listed as the "physical address" !!! hmmmmmmm!

to give the electric company credit ~~ she asked me to get the meter# from the meter "attached to the house" - that confused me - why would it not be attached to the house?

i had our realtor go out there and when i called back....the electric company gave me what they have listed as the address ~~ same house # different road! and.....and......TWO meters ~ one for a "light" ~~ did i want both on??? uhhhhhhhh sure! i like to SEE!

now.............the family has lived there 13 years..........i've SEEN the street sign ~ it's NOT the road the electric company has and it's NOT at an intersection of roads.

this complicates things cuz..............i've been trying to convince #3 son that we are not moving out to "nowhere".........that there is a town and are other larger towns ~~ very close by ~~~but.........my credibility is severely lacking now that the post office and electric company can't find us!!

husbeast (ha!) keeps telling me "STOP laughing about it, STOP talking about it" ........he's getting nervous............the moving truck arrives tomorrow!

next up...............telephone............arghhhh..........they were the HARDEST to disconnect here, can't imagine trying to connect there! you guys got my cell # ??????

first we played ~~ uh oh - Mamere has the camera!

we played ~~ "try to hit the nerf football with a baseball bat and run around the house even if you missed"

we played ~~ legos and some of us wanted all the hats/helmets (and the motorcycle)

we played ~~ "but i want the cat - let me get the cat"

he did not get me!

then:

we had a cook-out and there were 3 mom's there ~ THREE!

my purse after ??? years! got it before the sisters moved to NCpoor thing is well used and showing wear.......doesn't like to zip either!

the make-up bag is looking pretty good tho!the pattern is discontinued........and i think the style of backpack is too ~ what a bummer! should have bought 2 !

the socks are done and were worn to the last! work day - yep, i'm officially retired after 25years at the same hospital! i got a copy of my "termination" paper ~ under "reason for termination" ~~ retired!!

newborn hats for our hospital nursery ~ knit for them years ago and the volunteer lady saw me the other day ~~ ended up with 4 skeins

to accomplish as many hats as possible ~ til we move ~ only downside -- the yarn's ack!rylic -- don't mind it ~~ if it's a blend ~ and i've heard that ack!rylic is perfect for baby bibs!!

cotton holds drool and such and makes baby chest cold and wet & i do like ack!rylic for those busy moms who need to toss'n'wash

but i also know that wool or blends will turn to ash (basically) if exposed to heat/fire and ack!rylic ~~ welp ~~ it MELTS into your skin ~~ not so great for anyone ~~ but just imagine on an infant's baby soft skin :(

yup! i know i worry about weird things......fires/melted kids are rare.....

here they are!!

L B has been a "patrol" at school all year!

C D B is busy too ~~ potty training himself! ~~ yes, himself ~ at 2 ~ he decided months ago that he did not want a "by-per"

this dog (after 2years) is finally GETTING it ~~ NO licking!!

school is winding down for them and this year they will get the whole summer off.......the school decided to cut the year-round program ?? to save money??

so i'm hoping they will get to spend a bit of time with me this summer in the mountains

i'm also going to FORCE J & S to spend time there too!! ~~~ this is your warning ~~ you two need a weeks vacation ~~ get together and decide WHEN or I will!! and it's to be a whole week or 2 not just a weekEND

uhhh..........this month happens to have Memorial Day in it ~~~ our current area kinda shuts down and parties!

~~ on the party front -- to me neighbors -- (you know who you are!) -- please stop buying all the DosEquis -- we gringos like it too!! -- yep! i know Cinco deMayo is coming! oh yeah, leave me a few lemons too ~ sheesh!

we have to empty the house (this i knew!) for the walk thru the day before closing ~

we have: 3 cats, 2 big bunnies & their big hutches, 4 people, a truck full of assorted memories and furniture ~ all needing living quarters for a few days ~ husbeast(ha!)'s idea is.........dah ta dah.................a hotel!

unh....hunh sure, that'll work! Memorial Day Weekend, big resort beach area ~ yep! like if we even FIND something open ~ it'll cost the amount of our home!!

one son has decided he doesn't want to go so will need assistance with apartment rent...........

yes, i know my children are grown and can (probably!) handle stuff ~ and they need to be out ~ on their own ~~ however it doesn't make a mom feel any better to realize she's leaving behind someone who might fall flat on their face!!
