something funny??
i tried to change our address ~ the USPS does not recognize our new one!! the website asked me if i was SURE...... so i called the local office (at the new place) and was told, "we'll have to add the address - spell your last name"
i tried to turn on electricity ~ the electric company had no record of that address!! & they couldn't find the current owners account
i temporarily stopped relocation efforts!!
to give the post office credit ~~ she did research it and found her carriers "don't go out that far" and suggested a P.O. box ~~ she also gave me.....................the 911 co-ordinator's phone # to see what they have listed as the "physical address" !!! hmmmmmmm!
to give the electric company credit ~~ she asked me to get the meter# from the meter "attached to the house" - that confused me - why would it not be attached to the house?
i had our realtor go out there and when i called back....the electric company gave me what they have listed as the address ~~ same house # different road! and.....and......TWO meters ~ one for a "light" ~~ did i want both on??? uhhhhhhhh sure! i like to SEE!
now.............the family has lived there 13 years..........i've SEEN the street sign ~ it's NOT the road the electric company has and it's NOT at an intersection of roads.
this complicates things cuz..............i've been trying to convince #3 son that we are not moving out to "nowhere".........that there is a town and are other larger towns ~~ very close by ~~~but.........my credibility is severely lacking now that the post office and electric company can't find us!!
husbeast (ha!) keeps telling me "STOP laughing about it, STOP talking about it" ........he's getting nervous............the moving truck arrives tomorrow!
next up...............telephone............arghhhh..........they were the HARDEST to disconnect here, can't imagine trying to connect there! you guys got my cell # ??????

Hey not so bad---get a PO Box then only give to family/friends. Get Electric, water, phone hooked up but since you don't have an address then they can't bill you since mailman doesn't deliver--- only give address they don't know where it is and don't give your PO box to them.

Sounds like a fun move!! When all those things happen ahead of time, it means everything else should run smoothly! A least that is how I would see it......it will all work out great! Moving can be stressful and I love your way of laughing over all the craziness! Enjoy your new home.
See you are teaching those folks something already!
