stalled - sorta

been working on my secret pal's scarf

it's going nicely

i weighed the rest of yarn - gonna have to rip first sock a bit to complete second!

i got a part time job - have been training - not sure if i'll be staying!

the job market seems to think that everyone is desperate for jobs (and i'm sure alot of people are!) & that people will accept ANY pay, ANY hours, ANYTHING - but when you tell me to 'write down REAL hours" that i would like to work - then you need to accept what i write - eh?

i expressly explained:
1. 28hours per week & specific days
2. i've done my climbing of the ladder - not interested (i was told - "you're very honest" - duh!)
3. this is pocket money for me (yarn yarn yarn!)
4. i work hard & am loyal - but if they'd like a full time person - it's not me!

i believe they think they can change me - i'm sad about this cuz they might be wasting their time training me.

here's some unsolicited advice for those of you looking for jobs:

- be specific about what you'd like to do & what pay you expect
- when asked "what can you bring to company" - answer - - but then turn it back on THEM - "what can the company do for me?" "why should i accept this position"
- get into the nitty gritty! i've found that the person interviewing gets "stalled" when questioned..............it's YOUR right to know whatever you want to know - stand up for that right
- it's ok to say "i'd like to think about the offer and/or discuss with my spouse/partner, can i call you back later/tomorrow?"
- one major thing - don't appear desperate - even if you are! they will manipulate & you'll find yourself working all different shifts, doing scut work & generally miserable

anywho!

Love the scarf you are working on. The last photo of your backyard is very similar to our view off of our back deck! We back onto forest and field. Only not as quiet as yours! Just Beautiful.
